WEBSITE DESIGNS and ANIMATED GIFs
Without being too distracting, animations on a website can create action and attraction. Using Flashª can be an option but with all the upgrades, updates, and other software plug-ins available, do you really want your target audience to have to download a plug-in just to read your site. . .or have to go update their computer because of limited access to your website? Animated gifs may be the alternative you need.
With the web becoming such a fast place with the advent of broadband, cable modems, and faster computers, the days of small graphics and optimization is becoming a thing of the past. Some web designers might tell you to design to "the lowest common denominator" so that everyone, regardless of their slow dial-up speed, can see your site in relative fast speed. First you have to ask yourself, especially if you plan to market items at your site, is the lowest common denominator your target audience? Do folks who still use dial-up within an income structure necessary to purchase from you? If this section of your audience isn't up to date with technology, do you think they will have the internet savvy to successfully utilize your website?
Choose your target audience before you choose your website or even before you choose your animiation style of choice!
